November 21, 2007 Richard Romanello Holiday Travel of America 6405 El Camino Real Carlsbad, CA 92009-2802 Dear Richard, We write to thank you for your In-Kind donation of Multiple Suite Weeks, 5 nights Hyatt in Hawaii and a 4 day cruise for our 2nd annual “The Greatest Generation’s Affair WWII” fundraiser and live auction. We’d like to remind you that all proceeds for this event directly support our “Senior-Food-for-a-Week” box program which provides end of te month meal security for our seniors when their Social Security check runs out. Each box provides 21 nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner for 7 days). In September 2007, we served a record 773 elderly poor … food costs were $19,325 for 17,006 pounds of food. Each month our numbers grow as low income senior citizens come forward and request our help. To date our Gala net $44,693.71. We are expecting a few more contributions which should bring us to a total of $47,000 within the next few days. With the support of generous organizations like yours, we are able to fight the good fight … eradicating hunger, malnutrition and relieving the emotional and physical suffering of hundreds simply by providing nutritionally balanced, non-perishable “Senior Food-for-a-Week” boxes. Again, on behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and our senior recipients, thank you for caring and supporting The Angel’s Depot. YOU give us wings to fly! Warmest regards, Mimi Askew Community Resource Coordinator
