The San Diego Center for Children is our community’s oldest non-profit residential treatment facility for severely emotionally disturbed and abused children ages 5 to 13. All proceeds from this event have been restricted to the Scholarship Fund, which enables children to stay at the Center and continue their individualized treatment plan after their insurance and other funding has expired. Nothing is more heartbreaking than having to release a child before he or she is ready, due to lack of funding. Many of these children have suffered terrible traumas in their lives and can feel abandoned all over again by being forced to leave before they complete their treatment plan.
