Holiday Travel of America Charities - Boys & Girls Club, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, YMCA, Cystic Fibrosis, St Claire’s, Angels Depot, Homeless Children of Chicago, Center for Children, Kids are Worth a Million They fought our wars, paid taxes and handed down a legacy of freedom, hope and opportunity to the next generations . . . and yet, over 50,000 of these brave senior citizens live below poverty level in San Diego County. Many suffer from malnutrition and must choose between buying food and medicine each month. They are a proud generation who suffer in silence. We call these deserving senior citizens our "Quiet Heroes." In an effort to provide humanitarian relief to these impoverished elderly, The Angel's Depot, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, was created to provide "Senior Food-for-a-Week" Emergency Meal Boxes. These nutritious, nonperishable easily prepared foods are FREE to senior citizens living on $900 or less per month. The emergency food boxes are distributed through pre-qualified senior centers, churches, nonprofits assisting seniors and government agencies with social service or healthcare programs.
